Guyanese Motorsport Mourns the Loss of Motorcycle Racing Pioneer Victor Pires: April 6, 1945 – June 8, 2026

The Executive, Members, and Friends of Guyanese United extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, former competitors, colleagues, and the entire Guyana motor racing and motorcycling community on the passing of former Guyanese motorcycle racing ace, Victor Pires.

The passing of Victor Pires marks the loss of one of the pioneering figures of Guyanese motorsport. Throughout his years of competition, he represented the determination, courage, and competitive spirit that helped shape motorcycle racing in Guyana during an era when the sport was still developing and attracting a growing following across the country and the Caribbean.

Motorcycle racing demands exceptional skill, discipline, and commitment. Those who knew Victor understood that he possessed these qualities in abundance. His performances on the track inspired fellow competitors and younger riders, while his dedication to the sport contributed to the growth and popularity of motorcycle racing in Guyana.
