Village of Kairuni, Children’s Christmas Party – 2023

Guyanese United proudly sponsored the children’s Christmas party at Kairuni Village on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway last Saturday, December 16, 2023. This involvement allowed us to make a positive contribution to a significant community event.

During a visit to Kairuni Village, Ian G. Hall, representing Guyanese United, engaged with key figures such as Ms. Inez Klass, Monica Klass, and other community members. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into the area and understand the residents’ needs.

A subsequent meeting was held at the Pegasus involving Mr. Hall and two community representatives, Ms. Monica Klass and Ms. Deneve Chan, where a formal request was made for support for the annual Christmas party for the children of Kairuni.

Hall promptly requested a detailed list of required items, and the following day, Monica provided a shopping list. An arrangement was made to visit Matthai Supermarket on Water Street Kingston. Ian Hall then reached out to Mr. Matthai, the owner of Matthai Supermarket, inquiring about potential donations. However, Mr. Matthai informed him that any contributions had to be arranged months in advance.

Despite this, Guyanese United secured a 3% discount on the purchased products. Ms. Klass and Chan efficiently packed their vehicle and departed for Kairuni.

Subsequently, Ms. Chan shared photos of the successful event on the Kairuni Facebook page, portraying a festive atmosphere where everyone appeared to have a great time. She also expressed gratitude for the contributions.

Regrettably, Mr. Ian Hall couldn’t be present at the event, but he extended warm Christmas greetings to the kids and everyone at Kairuni Village on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to community support during the festive season.
